Ang Bata sa Cementerio

Sa masikip at makikipot na puwang sa pagkakatayo o pagkakaupo sa mga tren, mga bus at mga dyip, nabasa ko rin sa loob ng humigit-kumulang na isang buwan ang unang bahagi ng buhay ni Nobody Owens sa piling ng mga yumao sa akda ni Neil Gaiman na The Graveyard Book. Hinihikayat ko kayong basahin ang libro at hayaang mabighani sa takbo ng kuwento. Narito ang ilang bahagi na sana’y lalo pang makapagkumbinsi sa inyo hindi man sa pagbabasa ay sa patuloy na pakikihamok sa buhay:

 

“Yes.” Silas hesitated. “They are. And they are, for the most part, done with the world. You are not. You’re alive, Bod. That means you have infinite potential. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change. Potential. Once you’re dead, it’s gone. Over. You’ve made what you’ve made, dreamed your dream, written your name. You may be buried here, you may even walk. But that potential is finished.” (Gaiman, Neil. The Graveyard Book. p. 179)

Maganda yung dulo ng aklat, at hahayaan ko na lamang na sana’y magkaroon kayo ng pagkakataon na matunghayan iyon at pahalagahan ang mensahe ng akda.😀
